Description

Adne House is the only house remaining from a cluster of over twenty buildings, which made up the hamlet of Sæle up until 1863. The living conditions of the fisherman, farmers and the Sæle community are the theme for your visit to Adne House, which has stood for over 300 years. The building and interior have been preserved from when a family moved from the house in 1927.

The English language tour needs to be booked in advance. A German language tour is also available.

After the tour, you may wish to wander through the blooming coastal gardens, which enjoy stunning views over the North Sea.

Please arrive in good time at the meeting place where you'll be able to purchase a ticket from your guide.

Through prior arrangement, this tour can be booked throughout the year.

Hellesøy General Store

For people living along the coast, general stores play an important role. They make survival easier in isolated communities by fulfilling several basic needs: supplies, socialising, gossip, culture, laughter and a place to wet your whistle. A general store always reflects the character of its whereabouts as well as the personality of its owner. If you want to encounter the life and charm of a coastal community, pop into Hellesøy General Store. The shop’s regulars have their own named coffee cups hanging on the wall, the freezer doubles as a banquet table, and visitors are encouraged to sign a guest book.
