The journey takes you from the North Sea Traffic Museum in Telavåg, along the North Sea Trail to Selstø cabins. These buildings were among the few that remained after the Telavåg tragedy in 1942, in which almost every building is Televåg was destroyed by the Nazis. The buildings are situated at the water’s edge and were formerly used to store fishing nets and equipment. During and after the Second World War the cabins were inhabited and at the end of the 1950s the cabins were rented out to city folk for over 20 years. The tour gives an insight info Televåg’s history, from what is was like to be a fisherman in the region, the Telavåg tradegy and the post-war period. The tour takes place outside and includes a 1km walk through the terrain, which can be wet at times. The English language tour needs to be booked in advance.
