- A taste of fruit and fjord!
If the Sognefjord is called the King among the fjords of Western Norway, the Hardangerfjord is the Queen. The 179 kilometres long fjord provides natural landscapes which are spellbinding to even the most well-travelled tourist. Here you will find cultural and natural pearls side by side.
The round trip Hardanger in a nutshell takes you by train from Bergen to Voss and onwards by coach to the beautiful village of Ulvik. If you are lucky enough to be here in May, you can enjoy the fantastic fruit blossoming. From Ulvik the trip continues by boat to Eidfjord. Alongside the fjord, you will see small mountain farms clinging precariously to the steep mountainsides.
In Eidsfjord you can choose an exciting sightseeing trip to the powerful Vøringsfossen waterfall, the largest waterfall in Norway, or enjoy a relaxing lunch beside the fjord. The round trip continues with a lovely boat trip to Norheimsund, where a coach is waiting to take you back to Bergen. On route, you pass the gushing Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. The journey can also be made in the opposite direction.
We recommend overnight stay during the trip. Try Fjord Pass ®, Norway's largest hotel pass!
