Hill walking is a typically Norwegian pursuit. Every year, Norwegians put on their walking boots and head for the peace and quiet of the forests. The people of Bergen like to head for Mount Fløyen, Bergen's most popular mountain for walking.
"Walk like a Norwegian" is a guided walk on Mt. Fløyen. On the walk you will learn some local history about the mountain and the city, and you will also hear about trolls, Norwegian fairy-tales and Norwegian's great passion for hill walking.
The walk starts from the funicular's upper station. We walk through wooded areas, passing small lakes and ascending to various viewpoints. You are given a bottle of water to quench your thirst during the walk, which ends with a snack and coffee round a campfire. The walks, which are available with guiding in Norwegian and English, are led by experienced mountain guides. The walks are suitable for most people - all yon ned is a pair of good shoes. Try this soft adventure!
