FlyBGO

Fly Bergen is a newly established component in Bergen Tourist Board’s tourism development strategy for Hordaland and Sogn & Fjordane.

FlyBGO

Its operational and executive function is to support an overarching three-year marketing strategy that aims to stimulate tourism volumes into the regions of Hordaland and Sogn & Fjordane, and Bergen

Specifically, Fly Bergen will offer a marketing support mechanism to airlines that open a new route to Bergen Airport, Flesland, or increase the frequency of existing services. This will ensure that adequate marketing resources are available to ‘risk share’ the establishment of new airline services or frequencies.

The Fly Bergen framework is drawn from similar marketing support schemes that are available at airports and regions across Europe.

Bergen Tourist Board is a commercially operated, privately run organisation, funded by its membership of around 400 companies working in the regional tourist sector. The organisation functions with an annual budget of more than 65 million NOK. The Fly Bergen component of the ‘Three-year Air Service Tourism Development Programme’ draws upon the available resources of Bergen Tourist Board.
