Tour suggestions

To give you some ideas, we have put together a few suggestions for day program in Bergen. Select from the various proposals and make your own special program for your visit to Bergen. Note that some of the suggestions are only available for groups.

Day I
Start your day with a visit to the Fish Market and Bryggen. Visit one of the city's many museums, some with unique art collections, before taking a shopping trip.
Day II
Take the Fløibanen Funicular to the top and enjoy the view over the city. Walk down. Experience the picturesque Old Bergen Museum. End the day with a concert on Edvard Grieg's home Troldhaugen.
Day III
Spend the morning at the Bergen Aquarium. Go on a fjord sightseeing all afternoon. Have dinner at one of the city's fish restaurants, and finish the evening with a concert, theater or show.

Take a self-guided tour of Norway's largest city during the Middle Ages. Start at the Håkon's Hall which King Håkon built in 1261. Continue to the Rosenkrantz Tower and St. Mary's Church.

Mountain walks

Start at the Kjøttbasaren across from the Fish Market, the perfect place to meet before setting off. Continue 100 metres up to the Fløibanen Funicular. It is an 7-minute ride to the top of Mount Fløyen. Be sure to pick up the map showing several paths and ideal picnic areas.

The Viking city

The Bergen Museum Cultural History Collections also contain The Viking Age Exhibition, portraying the Vikings and their way of life. Then visit the Håkon's Hall which the Viking King Håkon built in 1261 for his son's (Magnus Lagabøte) coronation and wedding.
